Fire Sprinkler System Installation London

Fire sprinkler systems save lives and property, reducing the risk of a minor fire spreading and turning into something major. Sprinkler system installation in London can provide you with the peace of mind that your property, be it commercial, residential, or even something specific like a care home and the people inside it, are safe.

Pyrotech Sprinklers offer sprinkler design and installation in the London area, suitable for all buildings, no matter the size or layout.

Local fire sprinkler system installation

Fire sprinkler system installation local to the London area is a service where we work alongside contractors and building managers to deliver a system which meets all regulations and is bespoke to your building, providing maximum protection against disaster.

In terms of the specific regulations we need to meet, it would depend mainly on the building type. Mostly, buildings we work on fall under BS 9251 regulations, which contains guidelines which must be adequately met regarding things like flow rates, nozzle requirements, minimum duration and regular maintenance, and risk assessments.

With some buildings, like some commercial properties for example, we have to account for BS EN 12845 regulations. This European standard contains different guidelines for similar factors (such as flow rates), but for buildings of a different size and layout.

Regardless of building size or type, or any unique challenges we may face, Pyrotech Sprinklers work closely with all of our clients to ensure total legal compliance and fire safety.

Our fire sprinkler system installation process

With over 10 years of experience protecting home and properties, we’ve refined our installation process:

  1. Initial discussion – We’ll talk to you about your building, asking you important questions regarding safety requirements and building specifications. We’ll work out how much it will cost you upfront.
  2. Planned supervision – We attend site meetings and conduct quality assurance checks, ensuring that we maintain complete safety throughout the process.
  3. Professional sprinkler installation – Following all relevant safety standards, and planned, coordinated design, we’ll install your sprinkler system as efficiently as possible.
  4. Legal documentation – Finally, we provide our customers with all relevant legal documents which outline the installation work we’ve done.

Where we can install fire sprinkler systems

As our fire sprinkler project portfolio demonstrates, we’re able to install fire sprinkler systems in a range of property types across London:

Residential – As shown through our The Heights Annex Sprinkler Installation, we have experience in long term residential projects, focusing on the protection of lives and property alike. This included utilising a variety of sprinkler heads and some awkward installation in places.

This took a fair bit of liaising with our customer and their client to get the design spot on; not to mention the ‘floating’ beds to deal with, ensuring coverage when elevated to the ceiling or positioned on the ground to snooze on.

Commercial – With knowledge of all relevant regulations, such as BS 9251 and BS EN 12845, Pyrotech Sprinklers can provide solutions for a variety of commercial buildings, such as retailers, entertainment venues, office buildings and more.

Care homes – We specialise in care home sprinkler system installation, as demonstrated by our work for Aylesbury Care Home. These buildings often contain a number of vulnerable residents with mobility issues and other forms of disabilities, so it’s vital that we complete a comprehensive installation to increase safety.

We supplied a residential CAT 3 sprinkler system, fed by a shared pump and tank with the domestic water supply to the building. 74 apartments over 3 floors, with additional communal areas, a kitchen and restaurants.

Student accommodation – With lots of young people living in close proximity and sharing kitchens, student accommodation buildings can be at relatively high fire risk. Pyrotech Sprinklers can design and install protective sprinkler systems for all student accommodation buildings.

Typical features of a fire sprinkler system:

The main benefit of an automatic fire suppression system is that they eliminate the need for human activation. Not only does this reduce the risk to occupants' safety, but it is also ideal for extinguishing fires in remote areas.

Detection

A system is activated by a heat-sensitive device, such as a glass bulb, which reacts to the heat of a fire and triggers the release of water from sprinkler heads.
1

Sprinkler Activation

Only the sprinkler heads in the area of the fire will activate when required, releasing water to suppress the fire and damages to the surrounding area.
2

Water Flow

When the heat-sensitive device is triggered, it opens a valve that allows water to flow from the main water supply through the pipes and out the sprinkler heads.
3

Containment

Water from the sprinkler heads help to contain the fire by keeping it from spreading to other areas of the building allowing people time to evacuate.
